|
|
I"ve got a basic Dovo that I got for free in a PIF at the beginning of this year, and I've used it some 100 times. I'd like to give it away (now that I'm in double digits with str8s) to someone that is DE shaving and thinking about str8 shaving and doesn't have a str8 yet.
Of course, you'll need to buy your own strop and all that, but I'm looking for someone that needs a catalyst to get going on this habit.
So......anyone interested? Again, I'm looking to give to someone that doesn't have a str8 but wants to get into it. This razor sucked me in to this addiction so I wanted to pass it along.

Very generous, Bill. I have recently acquired my first two straights, done one straight shave, and I can already see it becoming an enduring fascination. Someone snatch this up.
Regards,

I'm taken aback to realise I've had this razor for over twelve months. It's time to pass it along again, same recipient profile as before - an accomplished DE shaver who is looking to take the plunge.
I shall give it a refreshing ride on my Belgian coticule and strop it before sending it out, which will make it shave ready (but not by any means Dr. Moss level of shave ready). The first shave I'd reckon whould be done with no stropping, for the beginner.
I'll also point out that, while this may look like a great opportunity for a freebie, it's a gateway drug enabler gift that'll have you perusing hones and strops and other blades before too long. Not that there's anything in the least wrong with that! _________________ Give us the luxuries, and we will forego the necessities.

I replied to your PM with words to the effect of send me your address, but I'm not sure if the PM went successfully or not.

And should you be willing to pay two-way duty, I will be happy to hone it up for you if needed...

| Chris that is very generous of you and I will probably be taking you up on that. Especially since I assume it would be cheaper than buying a whole setup. Unless others are interested in putting together a whole setup that would go where the razor went. Just a thought. Since my education has officially begun, how often does it need to be honed?

If you have only one straight razor, it is best to touch up on a pasted strop once a month, and to refresh on a finishing hone about every three months.

| So I could get a month of shaves out of it just by itself?
