Annette passed away today. I'm sorry that she has to share her day with Margaret Thatcher because for many of us it's big news.

I spent some Christmas money on a DVD box set of all of her movies with Frankie Avalon. I'm glad that she got to learn through her royalty check that she still had a fan in Raleigh, NC!

As a young boy, I knew her simply as "Annette", the dark-haired girl with the Mickey Mouse ears. Now gone, she is still "Annette".

Lost Annette Funicello and Margaret Thatcher on the same day. Beach Blanket Bingo and The Iron Lady -- what a combination.

Wow, I remember watching the Mouseketeers every afternoon and wanting in the worst way to be a Mouseketeer, myself! I certainly remember Annette Funicello, who always seemed to stand out. I have wondered how she was doing since she announced that she had MS. Rest in Peace, Annette.

I remember all of us going to see "Beach, Blanket, Bingo" for my birthday party. I must have been about 12.

Right. Middle fifties. I thought she was the most memorable of the Mouseketeers.

A class act. Rest in peace.
