I guess I am a member of a very silent minority that is very well pleased with the price/performance of this cream. I never see anybody else discuss it. The only drawback of this product is the lack of psychological satisfaction that comes with making a lather. This cream does not lather at all. Other than that it is an awesome cream for the money.

I never tried it though I was tempted. Back when Frasers was all the rage I spotted this stuff and thought it might be the American equivalent until an email from the vendor indicated that it doesn't lather. That killed it for me and I broke down and ordered a tub of Frasers.

Glad that you like it. I'm just not partial to stuff that doesn't lather.

Chris

I agree. Stephan's is a great cream for the money. Without the satisfaction of building a great lather, it serves well as a cream for a polishing or final buffing. It's plenty moisturizing as well.

My Barber can not keep this stuff on the shelf. Whenever he gets it in it flies out the door. I've used it and for the money its ok ,but not for me.

Glad you brought this up.

The Williamsport Barber sells it for $3.25 for a 1 lb jar. If you buy 3, you get the 4th for free. The shipping is $12 unless you spend at least $50, in which case the shipping is free.

I've used Stephan's Stay Smooth in the past. This past weekend I was digging through my creams and soaps when I spotted my second big tub and opened the lid. I had forgotten how wonderful the coconut fragranced blue cream smells. I've used it the past two mornings, first with a straight razor and next with a DE. I used it in strict accordance with the instructions on the tub. I love the coconut fragrance and the smooth shaves that it provides.

Edit: Shave log w/ Stephan's
1. 2-26
2. 2-27
3. 2-28
4. 2-29
5. 3-1
6. 3-3

I'm reluctant to do it, due to the existence of other equally lovely soaps and creams, sooner or later I'm going to have to use other products to shave with. I wish I could use Stephans every day.

I've got a wonderful brush that's sitting idle, I've got a small mountain of the likes of Derby, Harris, McC, ad nauseum just driving me crazy to use them too. It's a delightful delimma I've created for myself. Laughing

I had a jar of it.
I liked it.
My son visited.
He loved it.
I gave it to him.

Never used it myself.

I came close to purchasing some shave creams from Lush back between Christmas and New Years until I realized that they didn't lather at all -- and I wasn't up for the experimentation at that price.
