Ok..I'm a newbie here, but like many of us, well traveled in shaving equipment and technique.
My main problem: After I shave (described below), I end up with a circular patch of tiny black dots (I have black hair) on my left cheek. When I run the back of my fingers against it, I can't feel anything. BUT, if I press my fingers on the area, I feel tiny hairs. Kinda like stubble. Its visible, esp since the rest of my face is relatively clean shaven.
This problem seems to be getting worse. Before a stroke against the grain would eliminate it. But lately, even a stroke with, across, or against the grain doesn't eliminate it.
Currently shaving in the shower, exfoliating with Neutrogena Scrub, using Billy Jealously shaving cream and Schick Quattro. This problem has existed no matter what tools I use (electric, Merkur HD & brush, brush with Schick, etc). Always shave with two passes (one with and one against).
Tips? Thoughts? Also, are these in-grown hairs? I don't think they are, but not sure..

Ingrowns are red bumps on the skin that eventually can become puss-filled.
It sounds like you have an issue that many dark-haired people with heavy beards have. No matter how close the shave, you can still see the hair beneath the skin.
Go ATG all you want, it'll still show.
What's odd, though, is that it manifests itself in only a small patch, so I may well be wrong...
Get a tan.

Batch,
You may try stretching your skin in some different directions. That should help lift the hairs away from the skin so they are easier to shave.

My last phase in the daily shave is to go after those places with a near dry face. I find that I can get hair that is too slippery to go after with lather present. You MUST use a sharp blade though and sometimes I need to set the adjustable one number more aggresive. I usually rinse off all lather and give my skin its cold washcloth treatment to close the pores. Then either towel off or let the skin dry while I wash my brush. Then pick up the razor and go to work.

| I have a similar problem - can get a great shave, totally smooth, but can still see what looks like stubble on the chin. Can't feel it, and can't get rid of it. So, I just live with it.
