Home > Member Galleries > Ben > Ben's Guide to Restoring Razors

The end
The Ranger Tech (on the right) completely submerged in mineral oil. Note that the blade compartment is open. This allows the oil to reach all of the razor's moving parts. Next to it is a Gillette "Slimboy" that I restored at the same time. After the razors sit in oil for a while, I remove them from the container, let the excess oil run off, then give them a final wipe with a dry washcloth. You may elect to rinse the razor in hydrogen peroxide or soak it in some before drying it and putting it in the oil.
